What is Kosino and where to look for it?
This is a small village in Transcarpathia, in the Mukachevo district. There are a little more than a thousand people here, so don't expect the hustle and bustle of a big city.
How to get here?
The village is located near the T-0726 road, about 12 km from the district center. The route is not difficult, you will have to go through Mukachevo.
What can be seen here?
The main local attraction is the temple of the holy prophet Ilya in 1912. The Obava River flows nearby, if you want silence by the water.
Is the history of the village interesting?
Quite old: the priest is mentioned as early as 1649, and the wooden church of St. Nicholas - as far back as 1733. During Austrian times, the village had the Hungarian name of Kotskosalash.
When is the best time to come?
Depends on the goal. Transcarpathia is a region with mild weather, so the warm season from spring to autumn is suitable both for a walk to the temple and for time near Obava.
