At-Bash
FAQFrequently asked questions
What is At-Bash and what is its height?
This is a mountain in the Crimean Mountains on the Ai-Petryn Gorge, 1196 meters high. The top has the shape of an asymmetric pyramid: the northern slope is gentle, and the southern slope is cut off by rocks.
Where does such a strange name come from?
From Crimean Tatar: "at" - horse, "bash" - head. They say that a small rock on the southern ridge is to blame, which reminded someone of a horse's head.
Where is it and how to get there?
The mountain lies approximately 6 kilometers west of Ai-Petri and 2 kilometers north of the village of Lymena (Blue Bay). It is convenient to connect to the routes on Ai-Petri - from there you can reach At-Bash with your hand.
What is interesting about the terrain?
Contrast: from the north it is easy to climb a gentle slope, and from the south you are met by steep rocks. So go around the mountain wisely and watch which side you climb from.
