What is Ai-Petri and what is its height?

This is a mountain on the plateau of the same name above Alupka, with a peak of about 1,234 m. Its most recognizable part is rocky teeth from 7 to 19 m high, sticking out like a dragon's jaw.

How to get there?

The most spectacular option is the cable car from Myshhor, which has the longest span in Europe without supports. You can also go by car along the Yalta - Bakhchisarai route or go up on foot from the Uchan-Su waterfall.

When is the best time to go and what to expect from the weather?

Ai-Petri is the windiest place in the Crimea and the whole of Ukraine: gusts here accelerated to 50 m/s. Add 215 foggy days a year - and it becomes clear why you should hold on to your cap and take warm clothes even in summer.

What to see nearby?

On the plateau there is the village of Okhotnyche, and a whole underground collection is hidden under your feet - 27 explored caves, among them Kaskadna and Uzundja.
