Karabi

This is the largest limestone yayla (plateau) of the Crimean Mountains - about 129 square meters. km of almost level forestless space. The highest point is Tai-Koba, 1262 m.

Karabi is a solid karst: more than 50 caves and countless watering holes and sinkholes. This is also the Soldier Mine, the deepest cave in Ukraine, so look carefully under your feet.

Yes. In Soviet times, the topography of the plateau resembled the lunar surface so much that it was used for testing the lunar rover. The landscape is truly alien.

The plateau itself is a meadow-steppe plain without forest, with rare endemics and medicinal herbs. But the slopes of Kara-Tau are covered with an old beech forest.

The most comfortable is the warm season, from late spring to early autumn. There is almost no shade on the bare plateau, nor are there landmarks, so take water, a map and don't expect to hide from the sun or wind.
