What is Bukovel and where is it anyway?
This is an all-season ski resort in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, near the village of Polyanytsia. It modestly calls itself the largest in Eastern Europe - and backs it up with numbers.
How high will you have to climb?
The base station stands at 920 meters, and the highest point is Mount Dovga, 1372 meters. The height difference is up to 285 meters, so your legs will feel it.
How many tracks and lifts are there?
About 68 tracks - from 13 easy to 7 really difficult, together about 58-75 km of slopes. There are 19 lifts, including a six-seater, so there is less freezing in queues.
When to go for a ride?
The season lasts from December to April, but a lot is decided by the snow itself - the weather in the mountains does not ask for plans.
What if I didn't come for skiing?
In the summer, there is a bicycle park with 51 km of routes, there is a Mavka water park and a 45-meter Ferris wheel. Nearby is the Lake of Youth - the largest artificial lake in Ukraine.
How to get there?
The nearest railway station is Tatariv-Bukovel, the resort is about 15 km from there. It is 30 km from Yaremche, 100 from Ivano-Frankivsk.
