This report is about the tour: Wild Gorgany 🗓 June 26 – July 1, 2016
Review of the trip to "Wild Gorgany" (Carpathians) 06/26-07/01/2016
An incredibly positive trip, incredibly interesting people and an incredibly positive atmosphere.
You won’t believe it, but I have never taken so many photos on any hike. I want to capture every step, every emotion and every detail that makes up a single whole. Photographs breathe freedom, natural spontaneity and independence.
Route
Gorgany is perhaps the most unusual place I have seen in the Carpathians. A place so alive and uninhabited at the same time that you don’t understand what world you are in. You move a little ahead of the group and realize that you are not the most living creature on the planet. The white fog envelops you so quickly and the feeling of these white transparent wet millions of hands touching you is so acute that with your eyes open you want to pinch yourself and realize that this is not a dream.
Organization
I was very pleased with the organization of the trip. There is nothing to add. There is no place to be smart))
Food
The feeling of hunger arose by the hour and was satisfied in time. Very tasty, very filling and varied for 6 days. I won’t say that there is a lack of urban nastiness, that would not be true, we are too accustomed to stuffing our bodies with all sorts of nonsense. But every time my taste buds reacted with delight to everything that was prepared, and I never drank such delicious herbal tea even at my grandmother’s.
Company
We had a wonderful group of 14 people, including an instructor. Each individual phenomenon and each of them is a piece of you in each specific situation. The reactions, actions, and lifestyle of each participant are so realistically projected onto yourself that you don’t need any encyclopedias to see yourself from the outside. To say that it was not boring is to say nothing. Everyone seems to have come with a strong conviction to share every story imaginable and imaginable.
Oleg Boyko, Risha and Oleg, Katya and Vova, Zhenya from Kramatorsk and the always smiling Zhenya, Oleg dad and son Denis, Andrey and Dima, My Seryozhka and Maxim - I remembered you! Thank you for being a part of me all these days.
Atmosphere
The mountains are a slightly different world, a different atmosphere and an absolute lack of thoughts. It’s not even their absence, but their free flight in and out of our city heads that are usually absolutely filled with various nonsense. I left in Bystritsa after 6 days and I understand: 6 days for the Carpathians is very little. The feeling that I didn’t breathe enough, didn’t see everything, didn’t hear everything.
In general, if you have a need to be “alone with yourself, but not alone,” go to the mountains. And if you want mysticism, go see an instructor. For everyone who wants to hear mystical tales and real night stories of the Carpathians, and also after that plans to test their strength and spend the night alone in a tent - this is Oleg Boyko (our instructor, Klondike Man of tourist stories).
P.S. I came home with a very firm conviction - I need to go back. Everyone has their own feeling of At Home. The Carpathians are a kind of spiritual and physical haven. All the cockroaches in your head, when they get into the mountains, collapse like dominoes in a chain reaction, and by the end of the hike they are lined up in the correct order and named alphabetically. Not an advertisement for the Carpathians, no! It's just a place where you can learn to feel part of this World.
