In June 2008, the second edition of the Lonely Planet guide dedicated to Ukraine was published. To our great joy, our project OutdoorUkraine.com was mentioned and recommended in this issue

LP recommends to its readers our services for organizing mountain hikes and quotes OutdoorUkraine, talking about Crimean reserves.

Lonely Planet UkraineLonely Planet is a world-famous series of travel guide books. Published since 1973. During this time, more than 500 specialized publications dedicated to various countries and regions of the Lonely Planet (this is how the name of the series is translated) were published.
The peculiarity of LP guidebooks is a deeply practical approach to the selection of information and a focus primarily on backpackers. They don’t write too much about culture, but they give tourists clear recommendations on pressing issues (how to get there, where to eat, which hotel to choose).

In the fall of 2007, one of the editors of Lonely Planet approached me with a number of questions about the Crimean Nature Reserve. Answering them, I couldn’t even imagine that a year later I would see my story in a popular guidebook. Perhaps that is why I spoke without embellishing the real state of affairs too much. Here's what happened:

The book fell into my hands by chance (one of my American tourists was reading it). After looking through it a little, I found another mention of OutdoorUkraine.com

Lonely Planet about Crimean guides
But what a small world! Sergei Sorokin mentioned here is the son of one of our guides, Vladimir Sorokin. And the TryUkraine website is run by my good friend Rick Delong, a big fan of Crimea and an active promoter of ultra-light travel equipment.
It was nice to be in such company:)
