Meals on the hike
In most of the hikes organized by the OutdoorUkraine tour club, the instructor is responsible for meal planning (making a food layout) and purchasing products. Each of our instructors has his own favorite layout, his own approach to forming a derivative menu. However, in order to give you at least some idea about the food on our hikes, I will give you an approximate schedule. So, this is what food we eat ...
Derived menu
Breakfast - Milk sweet porridge with raisins. Tea, cookies
Dinner - Bread, cheese, sausage, pate, ketchup, dried fruits, water.
Dinner - Porridge with stew or fish. Tea with cookies.
Modest, but very nutritious.

As you can see, one portion contains 100 grams of cereal. That's quite a lot. So you won't go hungry - it's been tested on people:) But bread is provided only for lunch. He weighs too much to take him for breakfast and dinner. By the way, please note that in order to save weight, we use dry loaves instead of bread, and instead of sugar we take a sugar substitute in tablets for tea.
How we cook.
The head in the kitchen, of course, the guide. He determines what and when to cook, who gets the products, distributes responsibilities among the tourists. After all, cooking is an important attribute of camp life, and the whole group participates in it. Someone goes to collect brushwood, someone makes a fire, someone then supports it. Someone will get a big spoon to stir the porridge. Someone needs a canning knife to open the stew. In general, there is enough work for everyone.
Individual features.
If you have special gastronomic passions, let us know in advance. Stew, fish, milk powder, raisins and seasonings are added to the porridge at the very end, when it is ready. So, if you do not eat meat or milk, you should not catch the gaw, but approach the conductor with a plate, before these ingredients are added to the common cauldron. To compensate for the calories you have not received, we offer a special one discount for vegetarians.
I fully understand that everyone has their own eating habits. However, a hike is a collective event. So be prepared to make compromises...
After all, it's only for a week. And imagine how nice it will be to break into "civilization" to eat and drink it whole.
Personal stocks.
Do not take food with you in reserve and just in case - take care of your shoulders. If you really want to take something, take dried fruits, nuts or chocolate - but no more than 500 grams.
Alcohol on the go.
You can't drink alcohol on a hike! No way. Not for acquaintance, not for "sugreva", not for farewell, not for anything. Mountains don't like it.
