FAQFrequently asked questions

What is Chebetivka and where is she?

This is a village on the southeastern coast of Crimea, in the Feodosia district. The place has long been inhabited by people, so there is more history here than meets the eye.

Why such a strange name - where did Shchebetivka come from?

Until 1945, the village was called Otuz, which simply means "thirty" in Crimean Tatar. The name was first mentioned back in 1461, and then it was renamed to the current one.

How to get here?

The nearest railway station is in Feodosia, about 30 km away. So the last part of the journey will not have to be covered by train.

What to see nearby?

Nearby lies the Karadag nature reserve with the mountain massif of the same name. The Karadaz Biostation with the Institute of Marine Biology and the Dolphinarium has been operating here since 1907.

What else is this place known for?

Local farm "Koktebel" makes wine and grows grapes. And the writer Griboyedov once called these regions the most beautiful corner of this part of Crimea - the man had tastes.
