What is Strimba and what is its height?
This is a peak in Gorgany (Ukrainian Carpathians) with a height of 1719 meters. The mountain with a triangular profile is composed of fine-grained sandstones, so there are more stones than people.
Where exactly to look for Strimbu?
On the border of Mizhhirshchyna and Tyachivshchyna in Transcarpathia, on the Strymba ridge of the same name. The southwestern slopes enter the Synevyr National Nature Park.
How to get to the mountain?
The most convenient start is the village of Kolochava, from there routes to the top are laid. Pryslipskyi Pass and the Krasna and Pishkonya ridges are nearby, so there are plenty of options for your legs.
What is interesting to see on the way?
At the very top there are small lakes and screes, the slopes are covered with mountain pine, below - moss-grass and spruce-beech belts with clear altitudinal zoning. To the west opens the valley of the Tereblya River with a number of villages.
What else is worth knowing about Strymbu?
This is a full-fledged Ukrainian "thousander". From the southeast, the mountain is connected by a saddle to the nearby Stryminos peak (1,652 m), and the northwestern and eastern slopes are steep - it is better not to climb there without preparation.
