What is Velikiy Kanusiak and what is its height?
This is a conical peak with a height of 1,642 meters in the Gorgan massif, in the Kaluska district of the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The next-door neighbor is Maly Kanusyak (1,620 m), with which they are related by a bridge to the northeast.
How to get to the top?
And here is a surprise: there are no marked trails up the mountain. Orient yourself by the ridge and maps, so it is better not to climb without at least basic training and navigation.

Up to 1450 meters, the slopes are covered with spruce forest. Higher up, the forest ends, stone rubble and mountain pines begin - keep your feet strong.

To the northwest rises Grofa (1748 m), to the southwest - Parenky (1735 m). The peak itself is sandwiched between the Petrosu valley and the Zgoniliv and Kotelets streams.
Where to start?
The nearest settlement is the village of Osmoloda, a classic starting point for hiking in this part of Gorgan.
