FAQFrequently asked questions

What kind of waterfall is it and what makes it stand out?

Manyava Waterfall on the Manyavka River is one of the highest in the Carpathians, falling from about 20 meters. This is a hydrological natural monument of national importance, so it is definitely not worth chopping firewood and throwing garbage here.

Where is it and how to get there?

The waterfall is hidden southwest of the village of Manyava in the Ivano-Frankivsk district, in the Gorgany massif. The landmark is simple: you reach Manyava, then walk to the gorge.

What is interesting to see there?

The waterfall itself is wedged in a picturesque gorge with almost vertical walls up to 20 meters high, which stretches for about 200 meters. A few more rapids up to 2 meters await you downstream.

Who can you meet near the water?

Salamanders live in the area of the waterfall, so look under your feet - a bright black and yellow spot under a stone may well turn out to be a local landlady, not a toy.

When is the best time to come?

In the summer and after the rains, the stream is the most saturated, in the winter the gorge is covered with ice and looks completely different. Beautiful in its own way in both seasons, the main thing is shoes for slippery stones.
