How to buy tram tickets at Antalya Airport

The tram is the cheapest (less than $0.5) and fastest way to get from Antalya Airport to the city center (30 minutes) or to the bus station (1 hour). The final station of the AntRay tram is located on an overpass literally a hundred meters from Terminal No. 1 at Antalya Airport.

On the overpass is led by two escalators: the left one (closer to the International exit Arrival) and right (closer to the Domestic Arrival exit). If you climb to the right escalator, you will find a ticket machine at the top. A if it is more convenient for you to go up the left escalator, you will first have to walk to a similar machine installed on the lower level, approximately halfway between the escalators.

The machine sells two types of tickets:

• Limited ticket - two-time paper tickets, bktns (round trip)
• Smart card - plastic reusable AntalyaKart cards.

A blank paper ticket costs 1 lira plus another 5.50 for 2 trips (e.g. to the city and back) or 11 liras (about 4 trips). Total will be needed pay 6.5 and 12 liras respectively.

A blank plastic card costs 5 liras. The terminal can not only sell you need a new plastic card, but also top up your existing card.  The “expiration date” of a plastic card is most likely unlimited. At least At least my card purchased in the spring of 2017 worked perfectly in the winter of 2019.

The machine only accepts cash: 5, 10, 20 lira bills and coins 1 lira and 50 kurush (kopecks). The nearest ATM or money changer is in the building terminal No. 1. Please note that the machine does not give change. All the "extra" money will be just written on your ticket. In the terminal settings you can switch from Turkish to English.

To get to the part of the platform where boarding the tram takes place, you have to go through the turnstile. To do this, attach your ticket to the turnstile. On The screen will display the fare and the remaining money on the card. For a moment While writing this article, travel on a multiple-use ticket cost 2.4 liras. Check balance on the AntalyaKart card can also be done using a small terminal under sign "bakiye goster cihazi".

Let me remind you that the Airport is the end of the tram and there is only one route. Therefore, no matter which side of the platform the carriage stands, it can only travel в city. It will have “Fatih” or “Meydan” written on its front panel. And the trams traveling from the city to the airport have “Havalimani” on the board.

The tram cars are new and spacious. To open the doors, you need to press button. The names of all stops are announced in Turkish and English languages and are also displayed on the display in the cabin. After passing through turnstile to the platform there is no control either inside the tram or on exit. One ticket/card can pay for the travel of several man. There is no need to pay extra for carrying luggage on the tram.
