This is one of the most varied and eventful routes across Crimea. In a single week you will see Crimea's main sights: the Valley of Ghosts, karst caves, waterfalls and medieval ruins. There will be plenty of open space here, and the unique mountain scenery will delight you and your camera alike. Every day on the trail brings a new landscape: beech forest, shady gorges, whimsical crags, plateaus pitted with karst sinkholes. If you have never been to mountainous Crimea, choose this trek - you won't regret it.

Day by dayItinerary
1 Day 1. Chatyr-Dag plateau, Emine-Bair-Khosar cave, Hunter's Grotto
The group meets in Simferopol at the railway station at approximately 10 - 11 am. The instructor distributes food and rental equipment, then the group moves to the beginning of the route in the village of Perevalnoye (about an hour on the road). From here we begin our climb to the lower plateau of the Chatyr-Dag mountain range. Here we visit the equipped cave Emine-Bair-Khosar. For the night, the group settles down under the arch of a huge grotto or on the territory of the Tochka tourist center (in case of bad weather).
2 Day 2. Upper plateau of Chatyr-Daga, Angar-Burun and Eklizi-Burun
Having collected the camp, we will cross the lower plateau covered with karst sinkholes and numerous caves. After climbing 500 meters we will find ourselves on one of the highest peaks of Crimea - Eklizi-Burun (1527m). From here we will finally see the sea and begin our descent along the southern slope. We will spend the night not far from the seiquoi grove on the shore of Lake Kutuzov.
3 Day 3. Angarsk pass. Funa Fortress. South Demerdzhi - Valley of Ghosts.
Just an hour's journey from our overnight stay we will find ourselves at the Angarsk Pass (752m). Through beech forest, wild alpine gardens and lavender fields we will walk to the ruins of the medieval fortress of Funa. Then we will come closer to the stone chaos (Prisoner of the Caucasus and Sportloto-82 were filmed here) and settle down for lunch.
After lunch we will climb to the top of South Demerdzhi, decorated with a stone sphinx. Our path up will pass through a cluster of huge boulders and the famous Valley of Ghosts (a whole garden of fancy stone pillars). At sunset, their shadows come to life and it seems as if you are surrounded by ghosts. From the top of South Demerdzhi we will once again admire the sea and begin our descent to the parking lot in the Dzhurla gorge, not far from the waterfall of the same name.
4 Day 4. Northern Demerdzhi plateau, Khapkhal gorge, Jur-Jur waterfall.
Rising from the Dzhurly gorge, we will find ourselves in the vastness of Northern Demerdzhi. Traveling along the edge of this plateau is doubly pleasant - it is not hard on the legs (we walk along a comfortable, flat path), and it is pleasing to the eyes. Razor-sharp white rocks, a fantastic dead forest, a titanic panorama of the Khapkhal gorge.
After lunch at the edge of the plateau, we will begin our descent into the wild depths of Khaphala. Fallen trees, thickets of ferns and numerous cascading waterfalls will help you feel like you are in an Adventure. We will spend the night right there, by the river, not far from Dzhur-Dzhur - the deepest waterfall in Crimea.
5 Day 5. Karabi-yayla plateau, Mountain lake.
After a long but shady (this is important in Crimea) climb, we will find ourselves at the top of the Karabi plateau. There is a lot to admire here - countless karst sinkholes create a semblance of a lunar landscape, and real waves walk through the tall steppe grasses. By the way, about the waves - the sea is also clearly visible from here. From the top you can see the entire coast from the New World to Bear Mountain, and, what is much more important, you can see the place of our tomorrow’s meeting with the sea.
We admired it and that’s enough - we go down the mountain to the Nefan-Uzen spring. From here we will continue our path along the Karabi rock wall towards the mountain lake, where we will spend the night surrounded by vineyards.
6 Day 6. To the sea!
Along the Tuak beam, through the vineyards we will go down to the coast. There, in the village of Rybachye, you can take a minibus to Simferopol (they run about twice an hour) or pitch a tent on the beach and relax by the sea.
We usually go to the sea by one o'clock in the afternoon. This means you can be in Simferopol around 16:00. If you are leaving on the same day, it is advisable to do it after 18:00 (so as not to be afraid of being late and spend a calm couple of hours by the sea).

I was pleased with the hike and my wife will support me. We had an excellent first experience of walking in Crimea and will definitely continue it.
Every day you liked the hike more and more - your legs and back got used to the weight of the backpack and the endless climbs, the surrounding nature became more and more diverse, and the people walking with you along the narrow paths became completely family.
Can't tell you everything! You have to see it, go through it and experience it. And then move on through life with the consciousness and understanding that you were able, did not retreat and achieved it. It's a pity that everything just ended earlier than planned! But I know for sure that I want to go again!
For a week now I have not been able to recover from the delight I received over these 6 days. Climbing North Demerdzhi, the mysterious Emine-Bair-Khosar cave, swimming in the icy Jur-Jur - every day was unique, bringing new emotions. I remember evening gatherings around the fire with great warmth.
Hiking through the mountainous Crimea is simply very beautiful! No photographs can convey the beauty of nature - the whimsical stones of the Valley of Ghosts, the milky white streams of the Jur-Jur waterfall, beech forests, mysterious caves, mountain passes - there will be enough memories for a whole year, until the next vacation!
I highly recommend that everyone who wants to go on a hike does not put their idea on the back burner! Go and you won't regret it! The feeling of carefreeness, freedom and a unified team is nowhere known as far from civilization, far from home and in overcoming oneself.
The wonderful mountains (I saw them for the first time in my life) compensated for the fatigue with their beauty. I didn’t want to part with the mountains. And now I’m still tempted to go somewhere, and it’s best to go uphill))) Crimea, we’ll be back)))
The company was well chosen, the age of the children and parents did not create difficulties for communication, and like old acquaintances, slowly talking, everyone moved towards the first object of the trip. Despite the fatigue, heat, and lack of water, the children played constantly, quickly regaining their strength.
