Video from trekking to Annapurna Base Camp (Himalayas, Nepal) in October 2011. Below is a series of clips about this trip.
The first series is "The Waiting Room". About how long you have to sit in one place to finally be able to go somewhere.
The second series is "Harvest Festival". After arriving from Kathmandu to Pokhara, we got to the celebration of Vijaya Dashami - a Hindu holiday, timed to the beginning of the harvest.
The third series. Trekking begins - we are finally leaving. Although no... it seems that we are standing again - taking pictures. There is so much around that the cameras are already smoking.
The fourth series. We arrived in Gorepan - a large village with great opportunities. Here you can climb a spectacular hill (3,200 meters high), taste apple pies, and sing along to the guitar.
The fifth series. Trekking in Nepal is not all about endless stairs and stunning views. It's also a lot of free time (while you're waiting for food), which you have to do something: someone is photo-obsessed, someone reads, many keep a diary, and almost everyone plays games.
The sixth series. The climax is getting closer. We have already entered the gorge, at the end of which awaits the Annapurna Sanctuary. Water flows from all sides - it needs to go down, and we will stubbornly crawl up.
The seventh series. The culmination of the hike - we enter the upper part of the gorge, where the Annapurna Base Camp rests on the "bank" of the moraine. Many of us are "covered" by mountain sickness, but there is such beauty around us that it is impossible to sit still.
