The shallowest sea
Having successfully written about deep seas, I decided to find out which sea is the shallowest. The directory claims that the shallowest sea is the Yellow Sea (this is in the Pacific Ocean near China). Its depth does not exceed 106 meters. Quite unexpectedly, the Baltic Sea came in second place - only 470 meters. The Kara and Barents Seas, with a depth of 600 meters, share 3rd place in the ranking of the shallowest seas in the world.
I would have continued to study the directory in search of shallow seas, but suddenly I remembered the Sea of Azov. After all, its maximum depth is only 14 meters. This means that it is the shallowest REAL sea on the planet, and my source of information is clearly not complete:)
By the way, it is not clear what to do with the dry Aral Sea. Now it is divided into two bodies of water - the Great Aral Sea with an average depth of 14 meters and the Small Aral Sea with an average depth of 8 meters. It is the latter that has excellent chances of winning the battle for the title of the shallowest sea on Earth. But can the Aral be considered a sea? Indeed, contrary to the established name, it is officially considered a lake, not a sea!
