Nudist holiday
Koktebel
For those who have been to Crimea, we don’t need to talk about Koktebel. This is a fairly popular holiday destination among Muscovites. However, there are no special attractions in Koktebel, except for the house-museum of Maximilian Voloshin and the house of writers. Koktebel is also famous for its vintage wine factory. The most important attraction of Koktebel is the extinct volcano Kara-Dag, which is now located on the territory of the reserve.
The easiest way to get to Koktebel is from Feodosia. Every 15-20 minutes a minibus departs from the central bus station of Feodosia to Koktebel and further to the Biostation. The fare is 2 hryvnia, which in July 2002 was equal to 12 rubles. The entire road takes about 20 minutes, and it also passes through very picturesque places among mountains and vineyards.
If you want to get to the beach faster, it is better to ask the driver to stop the taxi before reaching the center of the village, at the turn to the camping site, where the old sign "Planerskoe" is located. Then, passing through the campsite to the sea, you will get directly to the beach. If you go to the beach from the center of the village, then you need to go out to the embankment filled with all kinds of retail outlets and cafes, turn left and walk along the city beach. As soon as the city beach ends, the nudist beach begins immediately. A dry stream serves as a kind of border between the beaches.
A person coming here for the first time may be amazed by the number of vacationers. It numbers in the hundreds of people. And this is not yet the height of the season. In the morning it can even be difficult to find a place closer to the water. People are very different. Mostly vacationers are from Russia, mainly from Moscow, but there are also many Ukrainians.
The atmosphere is quite normal. If it were not for the lack of clothing on most vacationers, then this beach would be no different from all the others. However, proximity to the city beach and village not only has certain advantages, but also creates a lot of inconvenience for the vacationers themselves. Describing further the negative aspects of visiting this beach, I would not want you to have a negative attitude towards it. Many of those who sunbathe there all the time most likely don’t even notice them.
As elsewhere, the annoying sellers of beer, fish, pies and mussels, who constantly move along the beach in 2 directions, are also annoying. And although the supply of goods many times exceeds the demand for it, nevertheless, there are no fewer sellers. Quite often, vacationers from the city beach walk along the nudist beach as if on an excursion. Occasionally among them there are inappropriate, tipsy teenagers who shout something and laugh nervously. I saw how dressed young men approached the girls on the beach with offers of acquaintance, but they left with nothing. Jet skiers constantly ride along the water's edge. This is also very annoying, especially for mothers with children. Motorcyclists look mainly towards the shore, and not in front of them, and move at a fairly high speed. I especially didn’t like the family who, in full gear, positioned themselves in the center of the beach with a video camera and allegedly began filming each other with it. Dad had a rather characteristic “jock” appearance with a thick gold chain and an icon on it. I told them that filming is prohibited here, but it had no effect. The others tried not to pay attention to this. In general, no one here pays attention to others. Some come in groups, which may include some sunbathing in swimsuits and some without. Many girls sunbathe topless. Some undress only for swimming, and dress again on the shore. Most come with families and sunbathe completely naked. I noticed that some men shave off all the hair on their lower abdomen. At first I couldn’t understand why, but then I decided that it was easier to apply sunscreen this way. These parts of the body burn the fastest. Mostly they come to the beach for a short time, just 1-2 hours. Therefore, if you stay under an umbrella for 3 hours, then all your neighbors will change during this time. By lunchtime the beach is noticeably empty.
Joint beach games, such as volleyball, are not accepted, although some of the vacationers begin to play them, but no one usually joins them. They prefer quieter board games of backgammon, cards, etc.
In one of the newspapers I read that men love to walk along the beach looking at others and demonstrating their “dignity”. But that's not true. I didn't see a single man walking along the beach. The longest road from your umbrella to the sea and back.
Most people do not refuse communication. I think that on a nudist beach communication is much easier. It’s easier to find an interesting conversation partner here. Thanks to the fact that the House of Writers’ Creativity is located in Koktebel, you have the opportunity to meet any of them. I had the opportunity to meet one Moscow satirist author from Moscow, who at one time wrote several stories for the young Petrosyan.
Now this “wild” beach is gradually being developed. A trade kiosk has already been installed, and a cafe with reed walls is currently being built.
Ordzhonikidze village
For those who prefer a more relaxing holiday, I would recommend the beach located near the village of Ordzhonikidze. However, to get there you need to make some effort.
The easiest way to get to the village of Ordzhonikidze is from the central bus station of the city of Feodosia by minibus No. 6-A. The entire journey will take about 15 minutes. and will pass along a picturesque mountain serpentine. The fare is 1.5 hryvnia, i.e. 9 rub. Having arrived at the final stop, located next to the market, you need to head towards the city beach. Having passed it, you will have to overcome three or four mountains along the path, or move along the edge of the sea, periodically climbing over huge stones. When you reach the last bay where the road ends there will be a nudist beach.
Behind this bay there is another very small one, but you can only get into it by moving on the water. Few are capable of such a transition and therefore, compared to Koktebel, the number of vacationers on this beach does not exceed 30-50 people. But there are almost no merchants or passers-by here, and in general the atmosphere is more peaceful. Some come with tents and stay there for a long time.
At the end of this beach, you can collect clay, which is in powder form, dilute it with water and apply it to your skin. Almost all vacationers do this. It is believed to have healing properties because... is located in a Jurassic mountain rift. All I can say is that it acts like a scrub, although it has a rather delicate consistency. The skin after using it becomes unusually smooth.
All sunbathers are distributed along the beach at an equidistant distance from each other. Everyone rests on their own and is not particularly inclined to make acquaintances.
Fox Bay
According to guides, local residents, as well as vacationers in Koktebel, nudists have practically left Fox Bay now. "There's nothing to do there. Just a 1.5-meter wide edge near the shore."
