What is Toubkal and what makes it special?
This is the highest mountain in Morocco - 4167 meters. It sticks out in the High Atlas and is among the 36 most relief peaks in the world in terms of relative height.
Where is this mountain and how to get to it?
Toubkal sits in the High Atlas Mountains, about 60 km south of Marrakech. That is, the base for the start logically becomes Marrakesh.
Is it difficult to get out there?
The route to the top is technically easy, especially in summer. Therefore, Toubkal is often used as a high-altitude training before more serious mountains.
When is the best time to go?
In summer, the conditions are the friendliest. In winter, the peak is covered with snow and there is even skiing, so the cold season is another story.
What is interesting to see there?
The mountain stands within the Toubkal National Park. In clear weather, even the edge of the Sahara sands can be seen from the top - a good reward for the ascent.
