How to get a Moroccan visa?

At the moment, citizens of Ukraine NEED a visa to visit Morocco. You can arrange it at the Moroccan Embassy in Kyiv. This article answers some questions about applying for a visa: what documents are needed, application deadlines, application procedure, etc.

To begin with, I will quote two lists from the official "Rules for submitting documents for a visa". The Moroccan Embassy sends this document to everyone who asks visa questions by email.

Mandatory conditions for applying for a visa to the Kingdom of Morocco

• Applications for an entry visa to Morocco take place at: Monday and Wednesday from 11.00 to 12.30 only in advance appointments by phone + 38 044 284-33-26.
• Visa applications with incomplete documents will be automatically rejected.
• Submitting an application in person or by notarized power of attorney to a third party,
• Obtaining a visa - the applicant’s personal presence is required (this This paragraph does not apply to accredited travel agencies).
• Visa processing time is 3 weeks.
• To submit an application, the original passport and payment of the visa fee are not required needed. (However, be sure to bring your passport with you).
• The visa application form must indicate applicant's e-mail message date of receipt of visa
• The embassy will inform the applicant about the readiness of the visa as indicated by him, in questionnaire, e-mail address, a few days before the date of submission in embassy of the original passport and payment of the visa fee (amount the visa fee will be indicated in the e-mail).
• Submission of the applicant's original passport: Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00.
• Receipt of passports with visas at 15:00.

Documents for obtaining a Morocco visa

• Questionnaire - the request for an entry visa to the Kingdom of Morocco must be filled with block letters in English or French in one copy. See fill example

• photocopy of a valid international passport: passport or travel document must be valid for at least 90 days and its validity period must exceed the period of stay in Morocco

• certificate of employment indicating wages for the last 6 months, or a certificate from the bank confirming the availability of funds in the personal account (from calculation of $100 for 1 day of stay in Morocco), or invitation Moroccan travel agency
• no criminal record certificate

Procedure for obtaining a Moroccan visa

1. Call the embassy (+ 380442843326) and sign up for filing documents. Be prepared that the filing date will not be soon (via 2-3 weeks).
2. Collect documents from the list above
3. On the appointed day, come to the embassy in Kyiv (Ivana Fedorova St., 12) and submit documents (your passport remains with you).
4. Wait a couple of weeks for an email from the embassy indicating the date of the second visit
5. Come to the embassy again, give your passport and pay for the visa fee (about 700 hryvnia).
6. Wait a few hours and pick up your passport with the visa ready

As you can see, you will have to go to the embassy twice - first to submit documents, and then (after 2-3 weeks) to get a visa. How to obtain a police clearance certificate?

Answers to other visa questions

For how long is the visa issued?
Strictly for the duration of your trip, in accordance with the dates from your application form.

How are documents accepted?
Usually everything happens quickly. The consul quickly looks through your package of documents and sometimes asks a couple of questions.

Is it possible to speed up visa processing?
Call the embassy and make arrangements. There is no official “accelerator”, but sometimes the consul will meet with you (especially if your air tickets “disappear”) and your visa will be issued a little faster.

Is a printout from Booking.com good as a reservation?
Yes, and bookings from Booking and AirBnb are acceptable, even if they are without prepayment. The reservation must be printed in English or French.

How to print airline tickets?
Somehow. Low-cost airlines like RyanAir and WizzAir usually send a booking confirmation by email. Print in it.

Do I need to translate documents into English?
No. Certificates of employment and other “our” documents can be safely submitted in Ukrainian. You can also request a bank statement in English. But this is not important.

I read somewhere that you can also pick up documents by proxy...
Indeed, they did this before. But now the official instructions have changed and it seems that personal appearance is mandatory. By the way, when submitting documents, the original power of attorney is also often taken away (and then not returned).
