Ukraine not to Turn Black Sea Fleet Out Crimea |
|
The disputes on staying the Russian Black Sea Fleet on the territory of Crimea have been held for a long time. And now the state officials of Ukraine decided to discuss this question again. In particular, President Viktor Yushchenko has declared that during negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, discussed by sub-committee on the Black Sea Fleet of the interstate commission Yushchenko-Putin they are not going to make a revision of signed agreements. The matter is that it is necessary to implement some regulations of the agreement. “We do not intend to revise agreements, signed earlier, including terms of staying this fleet on the territory of Ukraine. The matter is that we would like to discuss, how some regulations of these agreements are being carried out”, the Head of the State said, announcing before the students studied in the Kiev Taras Shevchenko national university. The President insists that the matter is “how to combine these regulations in the agreement with the reality”. The President remarked also that still some questions are not settled, concerned with 170 ground plots in the Crimea, which are used by Russia “very far from the purpose”. It touches upon also more than 100 property objects and all the navigation. “And the Ukrainian side is working on these questions, and our aim is to adjust it with legislation”, Viktor Yushchenko emphasized. We remark also that the Head of the State expressed assuredness that agreements “are being signed to be carried out”. In accordance with it Viktor Yushchenko stated: Ukraine and Russia “do everything in their power to develop bilateral relations in an advanced way” on the basis of good neighboring principles. “I want you to know that we will uphold national and state interests on the legal ground”, the Ukrainian leader added. The Defense Ministry of Ukraine continues to insist upon increasing the rent for staying the Russian fleet on the territory of our state. Acting Defense Minister Anatoliy Gritsenko declares that “if the Russian side decided to hold market principles on gas, then we would get some unclear company-gas-supplier – and we have nothing to do with it – only just to turn to such principles in all other spheres”. Well, nobody can assert with assuredness that what will be then and what will be the results of the Ukrainian-Russian negotiations on staying BF in the Crimea. But we should not forget that there is one important point that these negotiations should be held in peace. |
