The fountain "Night" in Gurzuf

Constructed by a German architect Berger, the fountain "Night" was bought in 1898 by the owner of Gurzuf resort Gubonin at Vienna fair. It presents a typical sample of the plastic art of the end of the 19th century when allegorical symbols realized in baroque forms were widely used. The fountain is situated in the centre of the round pool, there are stone sinks for the falling water at the bottom. Many-figured composition is crowned with a ball which is a symbol of celestial sphere and with a figure of Night.
