Vorontzov house |
| One of the most interesting monuments in Simferopol is, perhaps, Vorontzov's house. It was built in 1827 by architect F.Elson. The house is distinguished by its precise planning and collonade, built in the Doric style, and also by its terrace, whose stairs go down to the park. On both sides of it, marble lions have settled. The kitchen block is also of great interest, as it is stylized in imitation of Bahchisaray Palace with windows and flues in Gothic style. The house is situated in park "Salgirka", founded at the beginning of the XIX century by a well-known scientist Academician P.S.Pallas. |
