The security services in the Crimea are clamping down on an ancient trade - large-scale theft from the region's unique archaeological sites. It is estimated that at least $2m worth of antiquities are smuggled out of the Crimea every year for buyers in the West.Some pieces from Greek and Roman graves are even stolen to order for private collectors, while others end up in museums and auction houses. |

The disputes on staying the Russian Black Sea Fleet on the territory of Crimea have been held for a long time. And now the state officials of Ukraine decided to discuss this question again.
In particular, President Viktor Yushchenko has declared that during negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, discussed by sub-committee on the Black Sea Fleet of the interstate commission Yushchenko-Putin they are not going to make a revision of signed agreements. The Ukrainian parliamentary election took place on March 26, 2006. Election campaigning officially began on July 7, 2005. Between November 26 and December 31, 2005 party lists of candidates has been formed. This election to the Ukrainian parliament, Verkhovna Rada held according to the proportional election system that is in a single nation wide electorial district with votes being allocated to the political parties or election blocs rather than to individual candidates. In the previous parliamentary elections half of parliamentary prepresentatives (deputies) were elected on proportional basis, while the other half were elected in single-mandate constituencies. The constition was amended in 2005 following negoitiations and agreements during the 2004 presidential elections abolishing single member and replacing them with an increased multi-member proportional representation. The amended constitution, which took effect on January 1, 2006, also transferred some power from the President to the parliament making it a parliamentary-presidential democracy. According to election law and system adopted, the political parties or election blocs need to collect at least 3% of the national vote in order to gain seats in the parliament. |

Several weeks ago in fifteen minutes of driving from Tel Aviv unique cretaceous cave Jaalom has been found out. Wonderful opening has occured(happened) in a zone intended for expansion cretaceous karerov.
Cave Jaalom was noticed by the geologist who was carrying out research of subsoil waters. First it seemed to it(him), that the hole in a slope of mountain is not deeper than eight meters. The geologist has informed on the opening the organization "Malham", engaged research of caves in territory of Israel. |
